LaSalle Elementary Back-2-School Party

On Friday August 25, 2007, the last official day of summer vacation, the Metropolitan Police Department 4th District PSA 402 conducted a Back-2-School Party.

We had games such as relay races, potato sack races, cheer leading, chalk drawing, and much more. We also had pizza provided by Ledo's of Georgia Avenue NW and cotton candy.
The children enjoyed the prizes they won and most of all the 50 backpacks that we gave away.
Inside each backpack were all the school supplies needed for the semester of school.

The children along with their parents lined up early to receive a ticket for the backpacks. The first 50 ranging in ages of 6-12 were the lucky ones.

We did not let any child go empty handed. We handed out pencils and other school supplies for those who did not receive a backpack.

I want to thank LaSalle Elementary School for letting us hold this great event at their school.
Officer Adriane Wilson for her continuous help and support for not only this event, but all the events that were hosted this summer.

Mr. Robert Washington from Takoma Community Center who lent a helping hand. Mr. Sean Conley (Ward 4 Director DPR) for stopping by and showing his support.

Lastly for the children, without you all we would not have the opportunity to host these great events.
