On Saturday September 20, 2008 the Citizens Aware Association held their annual yard sale along with a club lock giveaway. This event started at 9am and lasted well into the afternoon. There were a variety of items for sale, but the highlight of the day was the club locks that were given to DC residents at no charge.
The Citizens Aware Association had purchased 78 locks to hand out that Saturday, and almost all of them were distributed. The remaining seven were delivered to District residents who were unable to attend the event.
The Metropolitan Police Department would like to thank the Citizens Aware Association for their contribution to the safety of the 78 residents that received these locks. With their help 78 more vehicles are better protected and less likely to be stolen.
